The Foothill High School Honors Committee has created the Academic Letter to honor exceptional students who excel in the classroom. The special letter will be presented to students who have earned a 3.8 or above cumulative GPA and completed a minimum of three semesters. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors meeting the requirements are eligible for the Academic Letter.
After students receive the Academic Letter and if they continue for another three semesters of earning a 3.8 or above cumulative GPA, then they receive a pin to add on their Academic Letter. The most a student can earn is an Academic Letter and 2 add-on pins. The Annual Academic Letter Awards Ceremony will take place in the springtime.
To obtain a Scholar Athlete patch or star, an athlete must maintain a 3.50 G.P.A. in the current semester of the sport he/she participated.
Fall and Winter Sports: G.P.A. based on 1st semester grades
Spring Sports: G.P.A. based on 2nd semester grades
The first time a student recieves the scholar athelete award they recieve a patch, for each consecutive time they recieve a gold pin.
