Steven Campbell |
Mr. Campbell has a B.A. in Education and English, and a Minor in Biological
Science from the University of Nevada - Las Vegas. He spent three years
as a teacher in a maximum security state prison, and likes to play
softball, tennis and racquetball. He also likes to spend time with
his family. |
Erin Downey |
Ms. Downey is originally from Lubbock, Texas. She moved to Las Vegas in
2000 and completed her B.A. in Education in 2005. She taught for two years
at Swainston Middle School in North Las Vegas prior to coming to FHS. Her
husband teaches 4th grade, and they spend their summers traveling the
west and kayaking, rock climbing, hiking, and fly-fishing. They have 2
cats, 2 dogs, and a bunny. |
Carrie Fleming |
Ms. Fleming hails from Kansas where she earned a B.A. in Education from the University of Kansas. She currently teaches AP Language and Composition and the AVID electives for 10th and 12th grades. She is also the English Department Chair. In 2007 she was awarded the Distinguished Educator Award for the Southeast Region. Other memorable teaching moments include the year she spent as a Fulbright Teacher in Senegal, West Africa teaching English to students at John F. Kennedy High School in Dakar, the capital of Senegal. It was an amazing experience, and one that made Ms. Fleming truly grateful for all the "extras" that we have in schools in the U.S. In her spare time, she loves to travel, read, and spend time with family and friends. |
Jacqueline Joseph |
Ms. Joseph was born in Cleveland, Ohio but lived most of her live in
California. She graduated from California State University at Northridge
and then went on to teach at Palmdale High School for six years. She
then moved to Las Vegas to be close to her dad. She taught for five years
at Eldorado High School before coming to Foothill. She has two adult
daughters and a beautiful granddaughter. She loves to play backgammon
and hearts. Also, reading or watching a good movie. She teaches English
II Honors and American Lit here at Foothill.

Chelsea Moss |
Ms. Moss teaches English I Honors and English II Honors here at Foothill.
She received her bachelors degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis
in English, and her Masters Degree is in Curriculum and Instruction with
an emphasis in Literacy from UNLV. She has two dogs named Cubby and Lucy |
Tammy Muniz |
Ms. Muniz teaches Composition and American Literature Honors here at Foothill.
She received her Bachelors in English Education, a Masters in Secondary
English, and is finishing a second Masters in Literacy, all from UNLV.
She is a true Las Vegas native, and never plans on leaving. |

Julie Murray

Ms. Murray has a B.A.
in English from Brigham
Young University - Provo,
Utah and a degree in English Secondary Education from Nevada State College
- Henderson, Nevada. She enjoys reading, gardening, hiking, playing the
piano, and teaching. |

Stephanie Stearns

Ms. Stearns teaches English
here at Foothill. She has
her Masters degree in Curriculum
with a focus on TESL. |
Christy Stewart |
Ms. Stewart teaches Advanced Placement Literature & Composition, English
III Read/Write, and English II here at Foothill. She received her B.S.
English Ed. from Central Missouri State University and her Masters of Education,
in Curriculum, Assessment, & Instruction from Jones International University,
both in Missouri. She is a single "parent" to her beagle Ellie,
and who enjoys hiking with her. Ms. Stewart also enjoys baking, reading,
and going to movies. |
JoAnn Strand |
Mrs. Strand teaches the Yes, Inc. class here at Foothill. She has a B.S.
Degree from Bemidji State University and a M.S. Degree in Secondary Language
Arts from
University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She is married and has 2 children. Some
of her hobbies include: baking, correcting papers, spending time with children,
correcting papers, hosting snow birds from Minnesota, correcting papers,
sewing, correcting papers, reading, and correcting papers. Her goals in
life are to write a book and to get her Ph. D.
Mrs. Strand became a National Board Certified Teacher in 2006 |
Bill Tobler |
Mr. Tobler has been teaching for sixteen years, six of which have been
here at Foothill. He teaches Journalism,Yearbook, and English I Honors.
He received his Bachelors Degree from Indiana State University and his
Masters Degree from UNLV in Secondary Education. He is extremely proud
of the school newspaper and yearbook, which he heads. Both publications
have received numerous awards. He enjoys hiking and camping, wake boarding,
music, DJing, geocaching, and photography in his free time. |
Karen Vaughan |
Mrs. Vaughan has been teaching for 15 years. She got her undergraduate and masters degree from UNLV. She has been at Foothill since it opened. Mrs. Vaughan's love of communication skills has brought her to teach Broadcasting and Forensics (speech and debate).She believes that strong oral communications are one of the most important life skills students gain in high school. "I can't imagine doing anything more rewarding with my life than teaching here at Foothill, states Mrs. Vaughan. |
Margaret Wagner |
Mrs. Wagner teaches English I Composition, and the new college English
101 class here at Foothill. She has lived in Las Vegas and Henderson since
1984, and graduated from Basic H.S., after which she went to UNLV. She
has a BA in English, a M.Ed in Curriculum & Instruction, and is currently
in a MA program for English Literature at UNLV. She is married and has
two sons. She has two dogs, Audie and Caray. She also enjoys studying literature,
watching baseball, and spending time with her children. |
Denise Walker |
Mrs. Walker teaches World Lit. Honors and English Lit. here at Foothill.
She received her undergraduate degrees from College of the Holy Names,
Oakland, California and UC Berkeley, and her masters from UNLV. She has
been teaching for 25 years, and has a long line of teachers in her family.
Her husband is a former English teacher, her daughter-in-law is a teacher
at Mannion, her daughter is a kindergarten teacher in Reno, and her son
is Foothill's very own Mr. Walker. In her free time Mrs. Walker enjoys
World Travel, backpacking, hiking, exercise of any kind, reading, taking
care of her dogs, crochet, and family parties |
Geoff Walker |
Mr. Walker graduated from UNLV with degrees in Education and English Literature
and a Master of Science Degree in Education from Nova Southeastern University.
He enjoys football, politics, reading, and working in the yard. His wife
is a teacher at Mannion. |
Kim Williams |
Ms.Williams teaches English II and English II Read/Write. |

to relax, read, hang out
